Sweetheart Stripes

by Dominique on June 4, 2014

I really love the combination of mix-matched stripes. It is definitely one of the more subtle ways to play with mixing prints. As long as the color palatte of the two striped patterns aren’t too wonky and clashing, this is a fun way to incorporate a playful looking into your wardrobe this summer. [click to continue…]

Mustard and Navy

by Dominique on June 3, 2014

I don’t care what anyone says, running around in the city all day in heels is made-for-tv only!!! If you’ve followed my blog for awhile, you know that I love a good heel. However, when it comes to dashing in and out of stores and walking for blocks on end, give me a cute flat!! I paired these super adorable and affordable loafers with a pair of silk mustard pants and one of my favorite navy shirts. Although there a couple years old, here are a few alternatives from the Gap, HSN, and Loeffler Randall.   I ran into a snafu a few months ago by hanging this shirt up in the wrong place which resulted in a few of the holes being ripped in the back – thank goodness for a good seamstress (this is another reason that I’m anal about organization and hanging things up in the right place). These sweats are not only cozy but I love that they don’t look like the typical sweatpant. [click to continue…]

Black Watch

by Dominique on November 30, 2013

Mixing prints can be tough – the key is to do it subtly so the outfit isn’t screaming, “look at me.”  And try not to mix too many colors when pairing two very different prints together. The key here is to mix effortlessly, not loudly. This is my first time combining stripes and plaid and I think the two work well together.  Since I already spiced the outfit up a bit with the two prints, I chose black for all the other items I wore.  [click to continue…]
