With Halloween right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to resurrect two of my favorite posts from October 2012. I’ve really been into the DIY spirit lately so this repost is right on time.  I am traveling most of the month of October but I promise I will try to get an outfit post up one of these days.  With that being said, is there anything in particular you guys want to see? More high and low mixes, what to wear to the office, or dressing up casual gear??  Please let me know!!! Until then, please ENJOY!!

I’m not a huge baker but I just love these Martha Stewart Pumpkin Cupcakes.  Although I didn’t make the marzipan pumpkins from scratch to top off the look, I lucked out when I found these cute pumpkin decorations at Michael’s (great find, right??!) And if you’re in an area that doesn’t really have seasons, this is the perfect way to taste fall :)
Happy baking: Recipe yields 36 delicious cupcakes

Cream Cheese FrostingAnd for those of you new to DIY or think you lack creative imagination, this easy DIY is for you:
Materials: An assortment of lace (I went to Jo-Ann Fabric), parchment paper, candles, cylinder shaped candle holders, spray adhesive, a pair of scissors, double sided tape and a pencil (most items can be found at Michaels)I only went with one truly Halloween inspired lace with spiders on it and two other styles that I felt would compliment the overall desired effect (the fourth piece on the left I plan to use after the holiday to cover up the spider candle holder).

Sweats & Heels

by Dominique on July 11, 2014

I know I post quite a lot of work inspired outfits on here but this outfit probably sums up my off duty look the best.  I am a HUGE advocate for dressing up more laid back pieces such as sweats with heels.  I wore this look to travel down to Washington, DC for a good friend’s wedding.  I will try to snap a few pics of “what I wore” to the various events (night out, wedding day, and the send of brunch).
Ever Tank; Kerisma Harem Sweatpants; Levis Chambray Shirt; Jimmy Choo Heels; Prada Bag; Amitron Watch; Mulholland Duffle Bag {smaller version on sale here!!}; Yankee Hat

BumbleBee

by Dominique on July 2, 2014

Wanted to show a good example of taking a work/more dressy top and transitioning it into a summer/more casual outfit.  And I know some women don’t like wedges but I, personally, am a HUGE fan – not only are they one of the more easy heel styles for traipsing around the city, they are also comfortable and practical.
Banana Republic Top {lots of fun options here}; Loft Shorts {super cute pair here that I might have to purchase}; Calvin Klein Wedges

Pump Up The Volume

by Dominique on June 10, 2014

If you’ve followed my blog for awhile {pre-disappearance that is} than you know I never shy away from color!! And though I love to find creative yet slightly subtle work-appropriate ways to wear color to the office, I never steer away from going a little overboard on those nights out or weekend escapades. But now I’m also in love with volume!! I’m loving the crop-top trend but tend to steer towards the looser versions like the one seen here. I kept the shoes and bag a more neutral tone so the focus was on the outfit. [click to continue…]
